Our Prediction:

Sevilla will win

Alaves – Sevilla Match Prediction | 15-09-2019 08:00

In truth it is a bit of a miracle that they remain in this race. They dont possess as much quality as Sevilla, Valencia or even Getafe but they have continued to grind out enough results and a surprise win here would be very significant. Alaves had an even worse weekend though. They were hammered 4-0 at home by Atletico Madrid in one of their worst performances of the season.

Sevilla lost a six-pointer on Sunday 0-1 at home to Valencia. Can they rebound four days later and see off Alaves in an affair of the same significance also at their Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan? Los Rojiblancos enjoyed a phenomenal kick off to the season and they appeared to be genuine title contenders, but they are not pulling up any trees at the start of the year.

A man to watch in the home team will be Ben Yedder, who scored a hat-trick against La Real. The Basques, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 4-0 loss to Atletico Madrid and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Sevillas party in Andalusia. Taking everything into account, home win should be considered as the Andalusians are eager to book their place in the Champions League.

Alaves come into this match after one of their worst performances of the season. Abelardo was philosophical after the game indicating that survival was still his main priority this season but with 23 points on the board already, secretly at least he will have loftier ambitions. They were beaten 1-0 at Leganes last Friday night in a game they created precious few openings.

The club is playing in the Spanish Primera Division and is playing his home games in Estadio Ramo Sanchez Pizjuan. The biggest rival of Sevilla FC is city rival Real Betis Sevilla. The current second team of Sevilla is called Sevilla Atletico and is playing in the Segunda Division B. Sevilla Futbol Club is a Spanish football club from the city Andalucia. Nicknames for Sevilla are Los nervionenses and Los Rojiblancos. An impressive venue with the capacity to hold 45 500 football fans.

Los Sevillanos failed to impress in the triumph over Pucela, but the good news for Pablo Machin is that Andre Silva scored his eighth goal of the season. The Portuguese attacker has been in a fine form ever since he joined the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan outfit and we believe that he is going to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders. Sevilla will be looking to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Real Valladolid when they face Deportivo Alaves at Estadio de Mendizorroza on Matchday 14. Deportivo Alaves aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Leganes, but seeing that los Sevillanos are eager to retain top position in the standings, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visitors. In their last meeting in the Spanish elite division Sevilla recorded a 1-0 win over the Basque club.

Sevilla are looking to hold onto top spot here but Alaves can move level on points with the Andalusian side if they can bag maximum points. Sevilla and Alaves have both taken advantage of the poor starts from the title favourites to get themselves right in the mix at the top end of the table. This Sundays clash in Vitoria sees two of La Ligas high-flying teams meet.

That was followed by defeat against a Standard Liege side they hammered 5-1 only a couple of months back and a high tempo game against a pressing Alaves side is the last thing they need right now. The Basques could cause an upset here. This week has been the first one where talk of fatigue being a problem for Sevilla, has really looked like a factor. They faded late on against Valladolid last weekend and needed some good saves to hold on for a 1-0 win.

However they didnt have such a good time of it in Europe, going down 1-0 to Standard Liege in Belgium. The result leaves them most likely needing to win their final group game to secure Europa League progress so there is still work to do there for Pablo Machins men. They held on to beat Valladolid 1-0 at home last Sunday in La Liga to claim top spot with none of the big three winning. As for Sevilla, theyve had a mixed week.

Highlighted Team (Sevilla):

Los Sevillanos are a real force to be reckoned with at home and the fact that they outclassed Real Sociedad 5-2 in their last home fixture in the national championship is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Deportivo Alaves. Sevilla and Deportivo Alaves, the two teams who are almost level on points in the La Liga standings, face each other at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Matchday 30.

Caparros is a more defensively minded coach than Machin and that has already been proved to some extent by the low-scoring nature of his first two games. They may have to be patient in this one and the absence of Banega certainly starves them of some creativity. The switch to a 4-4-2 also means Pablo Sarabia is less of a goal threat as he has moved out wide from the number 10 role.

Manu Garcia spent the 2008/2009 season on loan at Real Union, scoring eight goals in 29 appearances for the club and in 2010 he joined Logrones. The Spanish midfielder, who was born on 26 April, 1986, started playing for Real Sociedad B at the age of 19, making 101 appearances for the Basque outfit between 2005 and 2008. He scored 18 goals for Real Sociedad B and, as a result, Eibar chiefs decided to sign him in July, 2008. Manu Garcia is a product of Real Sociedad youth academy.

To add to that, Sevilla had to battle on with 10 men for the final 22 minutes in Liege and while they have some fresh legs to bring in here, there will still be many players starting again. Even at the best of times this wouldnt be an easy fixture with Alaves in fine home form. The Basques average 2.33 points per home game this term and are yet to lose in front of their own fans.
